Building models for Google Earth

Anyone can build models for Google Earth. The process is straightforward and fun, and the tools you need are free.

Use Google SketchUp to build a 3D model of a building that currently exists. Make sure it's located in the correct spot.

Use Building Maker to easily create 3D models for Google Earth. It's fun to use, and an easy way to get on the 3D map. If you’re new to 3D modeling, Building Maker is a great place to start.

Upload your model to the Google 3D Warehouse. Select the "Google Earth Ready" checkbox on the 3D Warehouse upload form. Within a few days you'll know whether your model has been accepted.

Visit Google Earth (make sure 3D Buildings layer is checked) to see examples of 3D models that other users have contributed.
